Dental Braces Glasgow

straight teeth newDental braces can make a difference to both your lifestyle and how you feel about yourself. This is because they can allow you to bite correctly, eat more comfortably and ultimately care for your teeth and gums more easily.

If you decide to have dental braces fitted then you can expect the braces to straighten cooked, crowded or protruding teeth. It will also close gaps between teeth and correct the bite of the teeth so that the top and bottom of your teeth will meet when you close your mouth.

There are a number of different types of dental braces available, with some being removable, others being made of metal and even braces that are made of plastic and ceramic.

Here at our practice in Glasgow we specialise in dental braces and can offer a wide range of braces to choose from, these include:

  1. Invisalign
  2. Six month smiles
  3. NHS dental braces

.

Invisalign

Invisalign involves using a number of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. When you replace the aligners every two weeks your teeth will move until they are gradually in the projected final position.

Six Month Smiles

Six month smiles uses clear braces that are barely visible to straighten your teeth. The clear braces will gently straighten your teeth in an average time of 6 months. Six month smiles uses clear ceramic brackets and tooth coloured wires, making this a discrete option.

NHS dental braces

These are generally metal braces that are fitted for a duration of 2 years. This treatment is available free on the NHS for under 18s who need it and the treatment is also available at the standard charge for complex dental treatment for adults who need it. Having said this, adults who want orthodontic treatment to fix minor cosmetic problems aren’t eligible for NHS treatment.

The prices for each of these dental braces can vary at our practice in Glasgow depending on the brace system that you want. During an initial consultation one of our dentists will take a look at your teeth and gums and will assess your suitability for braces, at this point they will also discuss the cost of each type of dental braces and will answer any questions that you may have.
